Day 23: Balance Strength and Tone, Lower Body Beach Day

Level: All Levels

Focus :   

Balance strength and tone with a Barre inspired workout for the lower body today. Toning and sculpting glutes, thighs, legs, and working balance and alignment. We will be working the micro supporting muscles in the legs as well as the larger muscle groups. Fine tuning, toning and sculpting today.

Equipment Needed :     

Your mat, a booty band, soft ball, balance cushion, 1 set of lighter weights, ankle weights if you have them (a fun and practical addition).

Class Level :     

ALL levels.

The Course of this Class :   

Starting with standing footwork and pliés. Both lateral and linear movements, pulses and pliés. Then we’ll take it down to the mat for sidelying kicks, bridges and quadruped. Focus is on the finer smaller movements and pulses. Concentrate today on your form, alignment, breath and engagement in each muscle movement and pattern. Push yourself and see your progressions. Using the balance cushion, if you have it, will really also test your balance and your proprioception.

If you’d like to do a bit more today, go for cardio. Check the Cardio Playlist or go for your own form. Otherwise hydrate, fuel well, sleep well and I’ll see you tomorrow for our stretch and recovery day.
