Day 24: Full Body Foam Roller Reformer Stretch & Massage

Focus :   

Full body foam roller and Reformer stretch session means using both these marvelous tools for the best massage and stretch session today. You’ll hit spinal articulation, thoracic rotation, hamstring stretches, hip flexor openers, chest openers, extension and more. You’ll hit it all today while lengthening, relaxing, opening the whole body. Use today for your recovery from the last week and your preparation for the following and last week of our 30 day program. Focus on your breath as well through each mindful movement in order to increase oxygen and blood flow to all tissues.

Reformer and the foam roller.

The Course of this Class :   

Cat cows move into spinal articulations and a massage and roll out of the back of the legs: calves and hamstrings. Mermaid side stretches and rotations lead into roll ups and the saw. If you haven’t done either of the last 2 on the Reformer it’s really lovely and unique with the springs and aids in lengthening. Lie down on the roller to release all our spinal erectors while delicately balancing on the roller and releasing the hamstrings again. Finally move into a chest opener. As per usual this class moves very slowly, mindfully and with our breath in an ebb and flow.

Goals :     

Full body foam roller massage to release undue tensions and encourage healthy range of movement. Hamstring and piriformis stretches to release tight hips and encourage healthy low back. Breath work to boost oxygen and blood flow to all tissues. Gain more flexibility. Help sore muscles recover.
