Instructor: Kristine Chaussard

*Equipment Needed :     Reformer.

Class Level :     ALL levels.

The Course of this Class :     The Kneeling Side Arms is a unilateral side arm exercise series which includes: Statue of Liberty, Draw a Sword, Tricep Press overhead, Arm circles and many other variations. Shown today is: Hug a Tree, Statue of Liberty, Overhead Tricep Press. This is a simple series, likely the most awkward thing about it can be the positioning of the hips. While focused on arms the glute max gets great work leaving the hip flexors open which provides a change from many other exercises. We’ll cover the benefits, the set up, and moving through the different variations, where to engage from, breathing patterns, etc. I hope this tutorial helps you work through refining your practice and improving your form.

Pilates depends on certain technical foundations, understanding these better will set you up for success in your practice; protect you from injuring yourself; as well as teach you the best alignment your body can achieve! Plus, practicing with the right form, you’ll get A TON more out of the exercise, your level will increase quickly if you stick to it, and so will your results!
