Pilates jumpboard… *Equipment Needed : Reformer and Jumpboard.
Focus : Energy UP! We are jumping our way to a blood pumping, heart beating, energetic workout today. Our legs will get lots of love, but so will our arms, back, and I’ll sneak in some booty too for us.
Class Level : Intermediate on up.
The Course of this Class : Get ready to jump. You’ll heat up your glutes and hamstrings first with some bridges and then get right to it. You’ll also work your upper body before leaving class for a complete full body workout.
Goals : The Pilates jumpboard offers that great cardio component to the Reformer so we can work our cardiovascular strength too. And it also gives us some low-impact, bone building benefits. There is A LOT of good in jumping, to name just a few things: It strengthens and reinforces our feet and ankles; our eccentric strength (which is crucial for injury and fall prevention as well as athletic performance); and it exercises our vestibular system (the control panel for keeping the balance!). Not to mention, it boosts our metabolism and our mood! So let’s get jumping.
