Day 28: Reformer Pilates Lower Body Toning Lifts, Kicks & Skates

Focus :   

Pilates lower body toning, of course this is Pilates but specifically stated because we are bringing it back, again, to those classical Pilates Reformer exercises which are oh so effective for toning and shaping the legs. Our last lower body day in our 30 day program for strength training. You should notice your progress today, pay attention to that and push yourself in those places of challenge. Then, create new challenges in those you find you’ve excelled! Glutes, hips, abductors, adductors, hamstrings, quads, calves, ankles, nothing in your lower body is left out today.

Equipment Needed :     

Reformer, the Reformer box, and your heavier set of hand weights/dumbbells.

Class Level :     

ALL levels.

The Course of this Class :   

Lateral skates with fitness inspired exercises lead into more classical Pilates exercises including leg pulls and kicks on the long box. Footwork to tone the legs and quads leads into long spine to tone the hamstrings. Shortbox hip lifts to dynamically target hamstrings and glutes strength and power while toning and shaping. Complete with splits at the end to stretch out hip flexors and backs of legs, creating more length for longer, leaner muscles. Today is a great Pilates lower body toning mix of contemporary and classical.
