The Coures of this Class : This is a simple tutorial on breath and body alignment, to help us better understand more about the Pilates technique. Here we specifically discuss the Pilates neutral spine in the supine position; what it is, and how you can find it in your body when lying on your back on the mat. Make sure you have a theraband with you as we will use that as a prop to help us better feel this position.
Pilates is really quite technical and its success does rely on us understanding the technique at the foundation of all the exercises. With this understanding in our minds and bodies we will benefit much much more from our physical practice of the Pilates exercises. As certain techniques are sometimes confusing I’m trying to simplify it and break it down for us here. Each one of these regarding the spine and breath are also great body alignment tutorials.
