Postural Exercises Mid-Back Mobility – Part 4

Instructor: Kristine Chaussard
Level: All Levels

*Equipment Needed :     Reformer and the box.

Focus :    Thoracic mobilization, upper back and arm strengthening to lift spine, chest opening, hip mobilization and strengthening, piriformis release, muscle lengthening and stretching. Welcome to Day 4 of our Postural Exercises Mid-Back Mobility, 5 part series, all for a healthier spine, stronger back and better posture and alignment.

Class Level :     ALL levels. This series is for absolutely all of us!

The Course of this Class :    This might be my ❤️favorite of our 5, hard to choose but I love the rotations we start with today as well as the mid and upper back strengthening we get. We’ll hit strong the backs of our shoulders to get both a release through the chest wall, lift our upper bodies more upright and work into our extensions. We’ll also work our hips and release much in the lower body today.

Goals :     Increase upper back and shoulder strength. Improve spinal mobility, especially through the mid back region. Upright our posture. Exercise our upper back extension. Mobilize and strengthen the hips. Release tight muscles through the legs.

In this series we are seeking to slowly improve your posture, alleviate stress, release tensions, and set you back up into your best alignment! My hope is you will find plenty of individual exercise “take-aways” that you will begin to incorporate into your daily life whatever you may be in the middle of doing.
