Kaitlin Geiss

Kaitlin Geiss

______ Biography ______

A Chicagoland native and classically trained ballet dancer, Kaitlin began teaching Barre in 2016 and Pilates in 2020 after being a student of these two disciplines for many years. Kaitlin first fell in love with Pilates at the age of 14. After years of struggling with dance related injuries, Pilates gave her the building blocks to improve strength and stability needed for ballet. Years later, Kaitlin was introduced to a barre based workout, which satisfied the strength and stability elements of Pilates with the use of the barre. The ability to teach and share the benefits of these disciplines is incredibly rewarding to Kaitlin. She thrives on being a student herself, constantly learning from mentors, peers and her own students.

What inspires you?
“Waking up each day with the ability to move my body + teaching people how to move their bodies.”

What do you like to do outside of teaching?
“I love to cook, read, hike and/or bike, and spend time with my loved ones.”

Jamie Tarkington

Jamie Tarkington with Remedy Pilates and Barre

______ Biography ______

Jamie was introduced to Pilates in 2003 when a fellow instructor suggested she try a mat class. This very quickly grew into a passion and love that was unparalleled to anything else she had experienced. Since 2013 she has been sharing her love and understanding with others and teaches all of her classes with upbeat and positive energy. Jamie is a certified TRX instructor and PSC Certified Pilates Teacher in Reformer, Chair and Cadillac. She continues to attend workshops and conferences to expand her knowledge. She holds a BA in Communication from California State University Long Beach and enjoys spending time with her husband and two beautiful daughters.

What inspires you?

“My kids! They inspire eagerness to learn. My daughters remind me of what it’s like to just be excited to learn every day. Not memorize, but truly learn. How amazing is it that you can never stop learning and growing and trying new things? There isn’t a greater joy in this world than being a mom.”

What do you like to do outside of pilates?

“I love to design… particularly interior design as well as travel. Even if its an hour drive up North, I like getting out of the every day routine. It allows me to get away from the chaos of life and recenter myself.”
