Superset Build & Lift Workout + Cardio Burst

Level: Advanced, All Levels, Beginner, Intermediate, Postpartum Friendly

FOCUS :   

Today’s class covers all the muscle groups alternating between upper and lower leaving us with little to no down time. This will also work our cardiovascular system and build our stamina. We’ll finish with a short cardio burst at the end to burn fat and get the heart rate up. You can totally head out for a long walk after this as well, it would be a great combo!

A great class to take if you are interested in starting up, or are already, lifting weights. If you are new to this type of training, we do it slowly and safely here with lots of explanation for form and posture to help you feel empowered and confident in your exercises and get the most out of your effort!

This type of exercises has a lot of science behind it showing the benefits to everyone, especially once over age 40. Maintaining lean muscle mass becomes more and more important, as well as it does maintaining dense and strong bones. This will also help burn fat and is an excellent form of exercise in tandem with our Pilates Reformer work.

EQUIPMENT NEEDED : 

Reformer + sitting box + booty band + jump board + 1 set heavier dumbbells + 1-2 light – medium dumbbells (go with what is appropriate for your level of practice and the exercise at hand).

CLASS LEVEL :     

All levels class. Choose your weights appropriately to your own level and ability.

GOALS :     

Build and maintain strong bones. Lift with ideal posture and alignment. Add lifting into a comprehensive workout routine for longevity. Build and maintain lean muscle mass while burning unwanted excess fat stores in the body. Shape and tone and then let your workout keep working for you even after you finish! Work your total body strength, posture, alignment, standing balance, stamina and endurance. Improve your dynamic balance for functional daily life, increasing your eccentric strength in addition to your concentric strength. Use weights to prevent osteopenia, osteoporosis and other related syndromes. Age healthy and strong.
